Playboy Playmate Marianne Gravatte was a lean and angular blonde beauty whose rail-thin figure graced the magazine's pages on a couple of occasions. Born on December 13, 1959 in Hollywood, California, Marianne grew up in the heart of the entertainment industry. She dreamed of becoming a top fashion model, and began going for it soon after graduating from Arcadia High School in 1978. Standing 5'8" tall, Marianne was an eye-poppingly thin young woman whose 34-21-32 curves hardly broke the line of her leggy, lanky frame. She was named Miss October 1982, then won the title as Playmate of the Year in 1983. Her slim and trim blonde looks were very early eighties, and her pictorials still exude the aura of the era. Marianne found her way into a couple of TV shows like 'Matt Houston' and 'Mike Hammer,' but her acting career never quite took wing. She also turned up in a handful of early music videos, including Ratt's 'Lay It Down,' Zebra's 'No Tellin' Lies' and Ric Ocasek's 'Something to Grab For.' By the late 80s, Marianne had drifted away from the scene, whether by choice or by disinterest we can't tell. She remains an icon among early 80s Playboy Playmates, though, the very picture of the ideal female image of the day.
