Debi Diamond got a job working as the personal assistant to legendary film producer Robert Evans (of 'Chinatown' fame). Evans, in turn, introduced Debi Diamond to some of his big-name contacts, including famous glamour photographer Helmut Newton. Debi Diamond became one of Newton's favorite subjects for a time, and any of his books from the late 70s and early 80s is likely to feature photos of her.
In the early 80s, Debi Diamond tried to break into mainstream Hollywood, but with little success. As she remembers it, she ended up having sex with producers in order to get jobs -- then wouldn't get the jobs anyway. Talk about getting screwed out of work!
