One of the hottest and most successful erotic filmmakers of the 90s, Porn Star Seymore Butts quickly established himself as the king of the gonzo video directors and performers. He's a strikingly handsome young guy with short curly hair, a well toned body and a glint in his eye that makes it clear that he loves what he's doing for a living. Seymore's a true lady killer who has been linked with some of the most gorgeous women to ever strut their stuff for the porno cameras.

Seymore Butts was born as Seymore Butts on March 18, 1964. He grew up in the Bronx, New York, the middle child of three. By the early 90s, he had moved to Southern California and bought a gym, which he occasionally rented out to film and TV crews as a set. It was when legendary porn director John Stagliano rented out his gym for a hardcore shoot that Glasser saw the lascivious light. In his own words, "I realized I was in the wrong business." Stagliano favored Adam with a small part in 1990's 'Buttman's Ultimate Workout,' but his main contribution to Glasser's carnal career came next.

Stagliano agreed to loan his equipment to Glasser so that he could shoot his own scene, which Adam then shopped around relentlessly at that year's CES show. He was eventually signed by Factory Home Video, where he adopted the name Seymore Butts and launched what was to become one of the great porn careers. From the very start, 1992's 'Adventures of Seymore Butts,' it was clear that this was a unique talent. Seymore mastered a cinema verite style of sex shooting that lent an extra layer of authenticity to every scene he shot, even if they really were set up ahead of time.

Seymore's videos played for all the world like the private home movies of one heck of an oversexed young stud. After producing a smattering of his gonzo sexvids, Seymore was contacted in 1994 by an adorable young blonde cutie named Shane, who had seen his work and lusted after what she saw. The two hooked up on and off-screen, and the rest is hardcore history. Seymore's pairing with Shane led to some of the all-time classics of gonzo video, including 'Seymore and Shane - Playing With Fire' and 'Seymore and Shane On The Loose.' Shane's wild antics and Seymore's amazing eye for camera set-ups and capturing white-hot action made for an unbeatable pair -- until Shane's loose behavior drove Seymore to break things off.

He bounced back quickly, though, hooking up with stunning Taylor Hayes, with whom he had a child in 1996. 1997 saw the introduction of the 'Tushy Girls' -- Samantha Stylle, Alisha Klass and Halli Aston. Seymore was eventually linked romantically with each of them, but somehow each relationship washed out. Along the way, though, they produced some of the great hardcore moments of the 90s.

Among his best flicks is 1997's 'Assgasms,' where Seymore hooked up with Vanessa Chase and Taylor Hayes in a pair of pulse-pounding scenes. 1999 saw the release of 'Thighs Wide Open,' in which Seymore found himself in a foursome with Alisha, Bridgette Kerkove and McKayla Matthews.

Seymore's carnal career has been beset by legal problems. His first protracted court battle was with Factory Home Video, who he left in 1995 to work for Ultimate Video. Factory claimed ownership of the name 'Seymore Butts,' and said that Glasser owed them for stealing the moniker. Years of briefs and hearings later, Glasser won on a technicality and was free to continue using the name.

Seymore's hardest legal challenge, though, came from the Los Angeles Prosecutors office. In December 2000, acting on an anonymous tip, authorities raided Glasser's SoCal offices. He was formally charged with obscenity in April 2001, due to a 'fisting' scene in 'Tampa Tushy Fest.' Seymore vowed to fight the charges with everything he had, eventually settling the matter in March 2002. In exchange for pleading guilty to a reduced 'public nuisance' charge and paying a $1000 fine, he was cleared of all other charges and won the right to distribute the unedited version of 'Tampa Tushy Fest' in California. Glasser considers it a victory against censorship, and the case actually raised his profile throughout the country.

Seymore Butts continues to direct and perform in videos, although he's eased back considerably from the frenzied shooting pace of his early career. His unique shooting style has won him praise from unlikely sources, and he's even been the subject of a short documentary piece on the Independent Film Channel. The undisputed King of Gonzo Video, Seymore Butts is a name that will go down in hardcore history as one of the most talented and popular ever.
