"The 1999 X-Rated Critics Organization (XRCO) Awards"
CENTURY CITY, CA -- For the fifteenth consecutive year, the XRCO held its annual gathering, honoring the top XXX movies and the performers that appear in them.
In a change of venue from previous years, this years awards show was held at the ritzy Century Club in Century City, California. Previously, the show was held in the ballroom of the Bel Age Hotel in downtown Hollywood.
After making their way up the red carpeted entry, guests mingled in the patio bar before being allowed to enter the main showroom, allowing ample opportunity for interviews and press photo ops.
Founded in 1984 by Jim and four other adult film critics, the XRCO has presented its awards show as a counterpart to the higher profile AVN Awards Show, held each January during the Consumer Electronics Show.
Relatively short by award show standards, the ceremony lasted less than two hours and saw awards handed out in 17 categories and 13 people being inducted into the XRCO Hall of Fame.
Best Film Feature: "Masseuse 3" Accepting his award, director Paul Thomas noted, "You got it right this time" in reference to the fact that Nic Cramer's"Looker", another film in the Best Film Feature category, won top honors for Best Film at the 1999 AVN Awards.
