| Hello dear readers and please join me in putting an end to a rather trying and less than thrilling month of January. If this is the way the final year of the millineum is going to go for yours truly, then I can’t wait to get to 2000. (By the way, is anyone else already sick of Prince’s 1999?)
One highlight of the month was the annual CES show in Las Vegas. This was my eleventh consecutive show and as usual, all of porn’s biggest (and smallest) stars were there. For a complete run down on the event, see my full article. (With pictures.) Among the highlights was the first actual internet porn fan get together. Thanks to Woz for putting together a fun evening, that I hope will be the first of many.
I also had the pleasure of meeting a number of people I have only emailed in the past, including Serenity, Alanna Evans, Luke Ford, Linda Thoren, Dee, Heaven Leigh and Kim Chambers. Of course, I also had the misfortune of once again meeting Asia Carrera who has such a thing against anyone remotely involved with the internet that she seemed ready to spit in my face. Instead, she just treated me like shit on her shoes, and isn’t that just the best way to win friends and influence people. Grow up Asia, I was actually you greatest defender.
Additionally, I got to meet two people I admire very much. The first, is known to internet porn fans everywhere, the Biokeeper. He was one of the people whose work inspired me to start this. (So now some of you know who to blame.) It was great to meet both he and his lovely wife, Mrs. Biokeeper. The second meeting was with award winning director Nic Cramer. I’ve been a huge fan of his work for quite some time, and meeting him was great. (Thanks Lysa, I know what a sacrafice it was to share him with me for a few moments.)
I don’t often tune in to the Howard Stern radio or TV show, but I did catch a bit of his late light show on E this past week. Howard had porn star Spontaneus Exctacy on, talking about her record shattering gang bang. Ever the trouble maker, Howard arranged for former record holder Jasmin St Clair to be on the phone while Spon was talking.
Though she claims to have done 551 men in her gang bang, Jasmin claims to have someone from the inside saying there were less than thrity. Without being there or seeing the movie, there is no way for me to say one way or another, but it could be possible, that they used the same math to get Spon her 551 that John T. Bone used to turn 60 men, into 300 at the World’s Biggest Gang Bang 2.
Either way, both women fired catty snipes at each other through the entire program. (It was like watching them pull bodies out of a train wreck.) Though she kept claiming to no longer care about the gang bang record. (Because she is doing better, higher class work for Extreme Associates.)
Jasmin still managed to come off bitter thanks to some biting remarks about the non-waif like Spon. “She’s a pig, why should I be jealous.” She sniped. Personally, I like the “Jabba the Hut” reference the best. Careful Jasmin, Spon looks like she could kick some serious ass. Stay tuned sports fans, this could be the best porn feud since Jasmin and Kendra.
Another interesting moment from the Stern show last month happened when Cristy Lake showed up to have sex with a listener. After running a contest to see which listener would nail the porn star, Stern seemed shocked that Ms. Lake would only do the scene if she could film it for her series. Given that Stern is the biggest whore on the planet, why on earth would he be shocked? Frankly, I feel damn sorry for the poor ‘winner’ but that’s just me.
Feature director extrordinaree Greg Steel has announced that he will not be directing adult films in 1999. He bought into a club in Atlanta and is going to devote all his time on the mainstream project ‘Tribal.’ More on that as things develop. (I know, where does that leave the green lighted feature penned by Rog? Well, it’s been shopped around to a few directors, but it’s up for grabs. Anyone up for a sex comedy? David Stanley, are you out there?)
The irresitably cute Alyssa Haven popped by CES for a day and attracted plenty of attention. The eighteen year old has just signed with Brittany O’Connell productions for her first video projects. Additionally, she will be featured in some upcoming live shows and has even hinted that she may fullfill a fantasy by working in a live show with Serenity. (You can all thank me know for bringing her to you first.)
ExExtreme Girl Stryc9 is apparently now going by the name Cherry-99. In an internet announcement that got plenty of attention, Max Hardcore announced that he has just shot her nastiest scene every. Hey Max, hey Cherry, why not invite me onto the set. I’ll cover the shoot and Cherry can finish what she started in our interview.
Anyone at CES got to see that the rumors are true. Jenna Jameson is in fact, back. She too made an appearnace on Stern, though I missed that one. It will be interesting to see if she can rise back to the top of the porn popularity charts this year after we got along so well with her gone. If the lines at the Wicked booth are any indication, people are as crazy for her as they ever were.
With the first ever RogReviews fan awards complete, I need to congraulate the winners, Jessica Darlin and Serenity. Darlin won the Best Newcomer award over AVN Best New Starlet winner Alisha Klass. She nearly swept the two awards, losing to Serenity for Best Female Performer by less than a dozen votes. (Chloe took top honors at the AVN awards.) Thanks to everyone who voted. Now the question is, what to give the winners.
Has anyone seen David Stanley? How can someone with that much talent for making good smut films just up and vanish on us?
