As an open-site we were faced with four serious problems:

First; We know that minors can and do lie to get into our website — and, as an open-site we were unable to create an effective barrier to their illegal entry.

Second; Our site was restricted from truly being an adult forum because we had maintained a self-imposed restriction on all of our writers in that they can never use any of the famous 'George Carlin words' — since the website was available to everyone.

Third; We were unable to reproduce over 14,000 video box covers because the graphics were much too graphic.

Fourth; We were unable to expand our photo gallery since we were restricted by our inability to show anything more than 'cute' breast shots. While we will never become a Hustler-style website, we seriously feel that there is much more to true erotica than just Playboy-verbosity. But, for us to place ourselves in this middle-ground has necessitated Excalibur Films becoming a 'closed site' — for members only.

Excalibur Members are any adult who has purchased any movie from Excalibur Films in the past 3 months or any adult who has paid the membership fee of $9.95 (Which is fully deductible from any order placed within the first week ­ thereby eliminating the effect of the initial fee.)

What about Non-Members? Non-Members will have access to the complete site except for all pictures and all movie reviews. Non-Members will be able to see the lists of movies Excalibur offers and will be able to then order any movie — and then automatically become a Member with all of the rights of membership.

One of the big advantages to our customers with this being a closed site is that 'bandwidth' is not being wasted on those who shouldn't even be here in the first place. The Excalibur websites have now become much faster and therefore much more enjoyable and readily accessible at all times.
