THE PIPELINE: MARCH 2007
They keep telling me that spring is just right around the corner, but every time I turn on the TV, someone is covered in snow. Not me of course, SoCal winters are not exactly icy. In fact, it’s around 65 degrees today and over the weekend we were pushing eighty again. Still, they tell me it’s winter time and I can’t argue with what I see on TV. With spring just around the corner and baseball season nearly upon us, it is time once again to venture into the crazy world of fantasy sports. More on that later because in Porn Valley Spring actually signals the start of the awards season…or is it the end. The XRCO Awards are just around the corner. Depending on how you look at them, they are either the last awards for 2006 or the first for 2007. Either way, I’ll be at the show next month, snapping pictures, picking up sound bytes and enjoy the winners. Look for that report next month. I just have to wonder if it’s too early for us to start voting for Pirates 2.
It wouldn’t be right to kick off this column with anything other than celebrity porn news. We’re still reeling from the release of "Screeched" but it’s time for a new ‘celeb’ sex movie. This one has some celeb-porn roots behind it. Paris Hilton had a huge hit with "One Night in Paris" and now one of her celebutante galpals, Kim Kardashian has joined the fun. Best known for paling around with Paris and for being the offspring of OJ friend and attorney Robert Kardashian, the stunning brunette may not have much of a celebrity pedigree, but she certainly has a body made for porn. Joining Kim is an even more dubious ‘celebrity’ named Ray J. For those of you who aren’t up on hip-up sub stars, he’s also the brother of Brandy Norwood. Vivid reportedly paid a million bucks to see Ray drop the black hammer on Kim’s fine body. Already a hot seller, Vivid seems to have struck celebrity gold with this one. As expected, Ms. Kardashian has filed suit to stop the movie. Such lawsuits have not been successful in the past, but I would still suggest picking up a copy of the movie, just in case.
Since early sales on Kim’s tape have been so good, it is creating even more demand for star sex movies. As we have seen with past celebrity sex movies and the recent naughty pictures circulating on the net of American Idol contestant Antonella Barba. The shots of her in sexy poses got us interesting, but the pictures (allegedly) of her sucking cock really peaked out curiosity. No shock here. People want to see celebrities fucking and sucking. Now there is a company advertising in a local LA paper informing celebrities that they can make five grand for solo sex videos. The ad is vague, but is an open call to A list stars, recurring sitcom characters and reality TV contestants. You just have to wonder how long it will be before Donnie Most, Tina Yothers or some of those American Idol wanna-bes will pick up the number and call. Hell, if Screech can do it….
Max Hardcore is coming home…well sort of. A long, long time ago, JM Productions and Max Hardcore shared a home with Legend Video. JM went off on their own and Max went over to Exquisite Pleasures. Now they are re-united with JM distributing all of Max’s new titles as well as the catalog titles that he owns. It is a natural fit for Max. JM already releases some of the most hardcore titles on the market and they are no stranger to controversy. On the other hand, given their current legal situation some might say that bringing Max on board is just painting a bigger bulls-eye onto their backs. Either way, the combination of JM and Max should be explosive. Hard core gonzo fans are going to get what they want because we all know that Max is going to keep on being Max no matter where he’s hanging his cowboy hat.

Don’t look now folks, but the "Pirates 2" hype has begun already. Though filming on the highly-anticipated sequel isn’t slated to begin until later this year, it seems as if it is never too early to start talking about the movie. Digital Playground released the teaser for the movie in Las Vegas last month. Now it’s available on line at http://www.digitalplayground.com. That’s right folks, the pirates are coming and if this one is half as successful as the first, we’ll be talking about them for the better part of the next two years.
While Digital Playground is taking to the high seas to create great porn, Extreme Associates is gigging a little deeper. For their latest shock-epic Club Satan, Extreme put real life Satanic priest in charge. The movie closes with what is reportedly a real black mass complete with blasphemy that is sure to shock some, thrill other and please Rob Black to no end. Later press releases outlined the cast and crew’s reaction to the final scene (Which includes someone busting a nut onto a statue of Jesus) and female lead Paris Gable’s traumatic experiences since the shooting. In pure porn hype fashion, the young Extreme contract girl is now claiming to need an exorcism. It’s never a dull moment with Extreme Associates. Club Satan should be hitting store shelves sometime next month.
Digital Playground contract girl Jesse Jane went under the knife earlier this month. She went in to have her breasts re-done. I was in the right place at the right time in last January when I got to talk to Jesse about the surgery. She was trying on wardrobe at Robby D’s place and gave me a close up view of the areas she was hope to change. (Yeah, sometimes I really do love my job.) The surgery went well and Jesse is already back to her busy schedule. We should expect to see her new boobs on camera in the not too distant future.
Before I close this month I want to send prayers and best wishes to my friend Mike South. He’s recovering from surgery to remove a tumor from his spine. Without getting too sappy, I have to say that there are few people who have been as supportive and helpful to me as Mike has been over the years. Get well soon my friend.
That’s about it. No huge contract signings, no new Federal prosecutions and only a few temper tantrums thrown. (We can always count on Kurt Lockwood when things get dry.) Enjoy the waning weeks of winter my friends. Spring is just around the corner. That means that it’s time to start thinking about XRCO, Adultcon, Erotica LA and plenty of other awards for the best in porn this year. (Or last, I forget) It also means that it is time for you guys to step up to the plate and play some fantasy baseball. Let’s see who has bragging rights y’all.
