Flash Installation Instructions

Make sure that you have a browser that is compatible with a Flash Shockwave Player:

Windows: Released versions of Netscape Navigator 3.0 or later, Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or later, or AOL 3.0 or later.

Macintosh: Released versions of Netscape Navigator 3.0 or later, or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or later.

How to Download the Flash Shockwave Player

Windows/Internet Explorer

1.) Go to the Flash Shockwave Players Download Center and click 'Auto Install Now'.

2.) Click through each and every one of the dialog boxes as they appear.

3.) When the Flash Shockwave Player movies begin playing, your Flash player installation is successful.

Windows/Netscape

1.) Go to the Flash Shockwave Players Download Center and click 'Download Now'.

2.) Choose the directory where you want to save the Flash Shockwave Player Installer and click 'Save'.

3.) Be sure to write down the name of the file you are downloading as it appears in 'Save As' dialog box, or use the "Find..." command to locate the file for step 2.

(Note for Windows95 customers running Novell network software: The Novell software shortens the Flash Shockwave Player Installer filename after you download it. For example, "Shockwave Installer.exe" will become "!Shockwa~.exe". The Shockwave Player Installer still works with this shorter filename.)

4.) Quit your browser and double-click the Flash Shockwave Player Installer icon. Choose the Player-Compatible Browser you want to install Flash Shockwave into and then click 'Continue'. The installer re-launches your browser and opens to the Flash Shockwave Players Download Center to complete the installation.

5.) Click through each and every one of the dialog boxes as they appear.

6.) When the Flash Shockwave Player movies begin playing, your Flash player installation is successful.

Macintosh/Netscape or Internet Explorer

1.) Go to the Flash Shockwave Players Download Center and click 'Download Now'

2.) Choose the browser you want to use with Shockwave Players and click Install

3.) When the download is complete, find the Shockwave Player Installer on your desktop. If it is not on your desktop, use the Finder's "Find..." command to locate "Shockwave".

4.) Quit your browser and double-click the Shockwave Player Installer icon. Choose the Shockwave Player-compatible browser you want to install Shockwave into and click Continue. The installer relaunches your browser and opens to the Shockwave and Flash Players Download Center to complete the installation.

5.) Click through the dialog boxes that appear. When both the Shockwave 7 Player and Flash Player movies begin playing on the Web page, your Shockwave Player installation is successful.

Problem Troubleshooting

If you installed Shockwave Player, but the movies at the Shockwave and Flash Players Download Center page do not work, check the following:

1.) Make sure you have a Shockwave Player-compatible browser.

2.) Make sure you have only one copy of your browser installed and that the copy you installed Shockwave Player into is the same copy you are using to browse the Web.

3.) If you are running a 16-bit version of your browser with Windows 95, you will receive an error stating "Could not load plug-in". This is common with subscribers of earlier versions of America Online and Compuserve. Download the Windows 3.1 version of Shockwave Player from the "Need a different Web Player?" link in the step 1 column and install it.
