Vivid Team You're obviously one of the biggest names in the adult business and could work anywhere, why did you choose Vivid when you decided to return to performing?
Janine Vivid has always been excellent to me, they see me as more than just an employee, they're like a family. They look out for me... they have my back and I could never imagine myself working elsewhere.
Vivid Team What was it that made you feel it was time to start working with men?
Janine I think it was just the timing in my life. I'm free of controlling relationships. I'm at a point in my life where I can make my own decisions. I've always wanted to work with men and I think I've played the girl/girl card as long as I could. I'm so glad to be working with men, it's like a fantasy come true.
Vivid Team Is there anything in particular you'd like your fans to know?
Janine I hope they would know that what they see on film is it, no make believe, no sugar coating. I enjoy my job and I hope they know it's authentic.
Vivid Team Was there any male talent that you were looking forward to working with before your return to adult?
Janine Oh yeah, there are quite a few. I've met a lot of men over the years in the industry that I've wanted to work with. In fact, with some of the guys, we're such good friends it's almost weird having sex with them. I'm not going to name names, but there are a lot of guys I've met that I've wanted to work with.
Vivid Team What changes in the industry have you noticed since you last worked?
Janine The only thing I've noticed outside Vivid is that some of the major companies are getting a lot more extreme. It's almost like they're going for something like 'Fear Factor' instead of good passionate sex, trying to be as groos as possible, like ten dicks in the butt at once,...' Look at me, I got ten dicks in my butt!
Vivid Team The Blink 182 album cover was a big step up, what kind of doors did that open for you?
Janine Once I was in the adult industry, I was in it. I never looked for the opportunity to break into mainstream. I didn't try to use it to become the next Meryl Streep, I'm a realist. But I do get a kick out of the younger generation and how a lot of the kids know who I am. But I have done some things, a few magazine covers and such.
Vivid Team Which of the newest Vivid Girls are you looking forward to working with?
Janine Wow...I guess Savanna, I met her right after signing again with Vivid and we're so much alike we could be related. That could be fun. I've just finished working with Sunrise, and she's so sweet... and of course Jenna, we go way back. I'll be working with her.
Vivid Team Any advice for up and coming talent?
Janine Well, for the girls that are exceptionally young, 18 to 20, porn's not going anywhere. I think they should go to school, get an education and then make that decision. There are some really young girls who get in the business and they make a lot of money and they just blow it all really fast...here goes mom Janine. They only have a certain amount of time. I have nothing bad to say about the business, it can be fun and lucrative, as long as they have something to fall back on when their time is over...and know your limitations, know what you're willing to do and don't let anyone push you beyond your limit. Work for a safe sex company. I can't imagine working without condoms.
