Roger T. Pipe I understand that this is your first time directing. So let's start with a little history. What were you doing before this?
Bryan Xin I was doing graphic design and advertising for adult film companies.
Roger T. Pipe What companies have you worked with?
Bryan Xin Several of the bigger ones. I did a lot of freelance work. I was never given much creative control, so it was frustrating at times. I always had to appease my clients, and no matter how bad some of the design was, I was not in a position to make the necessary changes to improve it. I realized that the only way I could do satisfying work would be to have that control.
Roger T. Pipe Did you always want to direct movies?
Bryan Xin I always wanted to produce AND direct. I had opportunities to direct before, but I didn't take them because I wouldn't have had any creative control. I was already a hired hand doing graphics. I didn't want to be like that as a director. I passed on a lot of money. But I think I would have been worse off now had I taken those opportunities.
Roger T. Pipe So how did your big chance finally come about?
Bryan Xin Alex Ladd. I met him when I first started working in the adult biz, and we've been friends ever since. We both had visions for our futures and knew about them. When he finally decided to start DVSX with Javier, the door opened.
Roger T. Pipe Ok, let's talk about your first video. Why tits?

Bryan Xin It's a shame there aren't an abundance of naturally big busted women readily available. We really had to go out of our way to cast them. We had to go to a few different countries.
Roger T. Pipe Any favorites or standouts from the cast?
Bryan Xin I have a new favorite every time I watch it. I couldn't pick just one. I couldn't leave out one.
Roger T. Pipe What do you like about directing?
Bryan Xin Knowing that I'll get good footage and do the movie justice makes it worth while. It's a lot of work, not just the directing, but everything else to get it from concept to screen, but the end result is worth it.

Roger T. Pipe Do you plan to or want to direct features?
Bryan Xin Well, I think if I was going to tell a story through film or video, I wouldn't want to be limited in having to create around the sex scenes and I wouldn't want to create a story and drop in sex scenes to fill a quota.

Bryan Xin I've seen some great movies that have hardcore sex, but the sex didn't seem like it was on a checklist of things to cover. It was very effective.

Bryan Xin No.

Roger T. Pipe What I really wanna know is: what led you into the world of porn?
Bryan Xin I was around a lot of it when I worked in a couple video stores, and even before that, when I used to browse the usenet groups when I was working alone. I guess I had time to kill. I don't know... (thinking) I just ended up there really. It seems like it could have been a logical move, but I didn't seek it out. It just happened to be a place I got a job. It's not really interesting, I guess.
Roger T. Pipe So you did the video store thing too...
Bryan Xin This interview is really boring, huh?

Roger T. Pipe What kind of porn does Bryan Xin like to watch?
Bryan Xin I really like the classics from the 70's and early 80's. Maybe because the past is unattainable, I don't know. Behind The Green Door. The Opening of Misty Beethoven. Performers like Seka, Lisa Deleeuw... There's so many more. It's hard to give a short answer to these kinds of questions.
Roger T. Pipe Has anybody or anything influenced the way you direct?
Bryan Xin I'm sure there are a lot of subtle influences. I suppose Russ Meyer's movies were an influence. He knew how to show tits, that's for sure.
