There are so many comings and goings to report this month that I have to wonder if porn companies think they are major league baseball teams with the trade deadline rapidly approaching.
The company that has seen the most turnover thus far in 98, Elegant Angel, continued to retool. With the ink on Sean Michaels contract still drying, Brian 'Cheeks' Williams was added to the roster. Williams signed a 24 picture deal with Elegant. No word on what this means for his alter ego Stoney Curtis and his Hot Bods & Tail Pipe series.
Ms. Darlin' didn't stay a free agent for long however. She was snatched up the very next day by arch rival, Extreme Associates. Snatching up Jessica was just the latest in a growing list of moves that has earned Extreme a pirate-like reputation for raiding Elegant's talent.
This helped soften the news that Victoria Paris seems to be having cold feet about her comeback. Word is, she is worried about the HIV breakout, but one has to wonder if she is just scared Black might have her fucking on a rotting pile of garbage.
In the final Extreme piece for the month, they finally signed a new director to go along with all the on screen talent they have been stockpiling. Mark Archer, of 'Barefoot Confidential' fame has joined on with the gang and plans to continue his interesting combination of foot fetish/hardcore sex in upcoming volumes.
Former Tushy Girl Halli Aston is still a free agent, but somehow I don't think she will stay out there for very long. If she decides to stick with the business, someone is bound to snatch the pretty redhead up.
I had a chance to view Greg Steel's first gonzo effort, 'Thunder Pussy', this week.
Those of you who liked Gonzo the way Buttman and Seymore used to do, will be quite pleased by this effort. Steel recently bought the title from Elegant and will use it to launch his new partnership with L.B.O.
The licensed use of AC/DC songs in 'Thunder' brings a question to mind. How do porn companies get away with some of the blatant thievery of songs. I recently watched 'Tampa Heat' and there is no getting around the fact that the opening music is 'Those Shoes' by the Eagles. Maybe Don Henley is a porn fan?
After hearing that Ed Powers has a local, late night radio show, I just had to tune in. Unfortunately I missed the big Luke Ford Vs. AVN episode. What I heard instead was perhaps the most dull hour of radio I have ever sat through. On the radio, Ed is every bit as unfunny and annoying as he is on video. And just so you don't think I'm picking on poor Ed, the callers were equally bad. Low IQ's and alcohol are a bad mix.
That's all for now sports.....errrr smut fans. The dog days of summer are upon us, so stay tuned for more news and notes.
