| Adultery DVD Description: "Some of the hottest performers of the erotic 80s join forces in this scintillating sexvid treat. The flick tells the story of Nina Hartley and Mike Horner, a married couple whose dreams of infidelity threaten to drive them apart. It seems that Nina's some sort of overworked exec who spends most of her time on business trips. Meanwhile, Mike is a writer who stays at home and wonders whether she's dabbling in any extramarital shenanigans while she's away. He tells his troubles to his psychiatrist Siobhan Hunter, but can't seem to shake his disturbing dreams of cheating. Mike's pal Joey Silvera tells him about another writer who exorcised his demons by turning his fears into fiction. We then watch a series of blistering sex scenes dreamed up by Horner, including a ravenous Gayle Sterling/John O'Keefe coupling in a barroom. Silvera gets in on the fantasy fun with Hunter in a steamy session, while Nina takes on a well-built stud in a naughty nightclub. In reality, Mike then turns to a luscious hooker (Shanna McCullough) who soothes his nerves with some scorching sizzle. When Nina comes home from her trip, it's as if she's never been away! A sometimes silly, often searing sexvid that delivers lots of pulse-pounding action. Adultery has never looked like so much fun!" |

1. Who starred in the movie, and what did you think of their performances?
If you can get pass the barely adequate production values of this early Henri Pachard shot on video drama, you'll find a superbly scripted and well-acted look at the lure of illicit sex. Nina Hartley and Mike Horner are a married couple who torture themselves with guilt and the rumbling desire to cheat when separated by her business trip. Siobhan Hunter is his shrink, Jon Martin plays a fantasy lover, Shanna McCullough is Horner's favorite hooker and Alex Greco is the lesbian who stirs long dormant feelings in Nina. This is a genuine find. 2. What did you think of the film’s production values?
The writing scores a bullseye capturing Horner's almost neurotic perchant to cheat, and Nina's need for unattached sex as a way to avoid the pain for fucking someone she can't wholly trust. If there's a problem it is the poor lighting and limited sets used for what was obviously a low-budget mid-'80s shoot. 3. How do you rate the film’s eroticism?
Superb. Nina lets her emotions simmer until Alex Greco teases them to the surface in one of the most realistic girl-girl scenes of the era. 4. What did you like most about this movie?
The Nina/Greco scene is obviously one of the best moments here, as is Horner's matter-of-fact encounter with McCullough (a hooker who sees her work as art), and Horner's wild fuck with Gayle Sterling, an actress who gives herself to Horner while wacko theater director John O'Keefe cheers them on. 5. What did you enjoy least about this film?
The video's technical values are poor. 6. What is your overall opinion of the film? How would you rate it on a scale of one to ten?
An 8. A surprisingly realistic look at a sex addict and his confused wife.
