A thick-set strumpet who looks nothing like the current idea of porno starlets, Porn Star Dolly Sharp was one of the very first women to take the plunge into mainstream hardcore. Dolly Sharp looked very much like an average thirty something of the early 70's, with masses of curly black hair and a naturally curvaceous figure that featured some ripe up-front bra busters. Dolly Sharp looked more like a greasy spoon waitress than a sexual superstar, and yet there she was at the very dawn of the porno industry as we know it. Dolly Sharp made her move into the skin biz early on, appearing in lots of the 'nudist' mags that passed for porn in the 1960's. Her full figure provided just what some magazines were looking for -- huge boobs regardless of who they were attached to. When movie standards began to loosen up in the latter part of the decade, Dolly Sharp was one of the first women to get into nudie flicks. She bounced her way through a series of softcore grinders with names like "The Weirdos and the Oddballs" before really making it big with the 1972 release of "Deep Throat." "Deep Throat was the first hardcore feature to penetrate the mainstream, and Dolly Sharp's performance was second only to star Linda Lovelace's. Dolly Sharp played her sexually liberated best friend, a woman who tried to guide Linda Lovelace's into 70's-style swinging. Her best scene finds Dolly Sharp taking on a series of studs on a sofa after Linda Lovelace's done with them in the bedroom. The scene features some down and dirty anal work from Dolly Sharp, who early on proved to be a gal who would do anything and everything on screen. Dolly Sharp appeared in a few more features through the 70's, including early classics like "Loving Daughter" and "Love Syndrome." Dolly Sharp left the scene in 1978, leaving the industry to a new breed of tighter-bodied younger women who would take it into the next decade.
