I'm on a bit of a roll with the Zupko movies lately. Last week, I took on his lastest Ass Clowns movie and now I've got Sarajevo to look at. Someone told me that this was a little bit different for a Zupko movie. I don't know if that means I'm going to love it because it shows off his brilliant side without aborted fetuses or sodomized nuns or if it's going to send me running for the exits, clawing my eyes out. I doubt it's going to all roses and puppy dogs, but this is the same director who bought us "In the Days of Whore" "The Abyss" and "Shades of Hades".

We start off with a somewhat strange scene. A group of people are sitting at a bar with lovely piano music as a backdrop. OK, they aren't all people, some of them appear to be part beast. So we get the strange contrast of soft music and intimate touching with the fact that this is a semi-human orgy scene. In the middle of the action, Jennifer Steele does some really nice sucking on a couple of big cocks. The room sort of clears out and we're left with Jennifer getting fucked by Brian Surewood. Interestingly enough, the sex is pretty hard, but the music is quite beautiful. This is a very well shot and hard (Without being violent) anal scene. After this backdoor boff, she takes a big load on her face.

The next scene also takes place in a bar with piano music playing. Veronica Caine is elegantly dressed and sharing her table with a lizard and the piano player. They all star making out and soon Veronica is having her breasts fondled by a guy in the lizard suit. Brian Surewood and Valentino join in so that the whole gang can lovingly remove her clothes and lick at her pussy. The music is gentle and the sex is pretty tame as well. Well, as tame as a mini-bang including a giant lizard can get. They bend her over the table and round robin her tight ass and mouth. I know I will probably piss him off by saying this, but this scene could almost be called hard-couples type smut because of the way it's shot. They do all shot loads on her face, reminding us that we are still watching an Extreme movie.

The odd mix of beautiful music and half beasts mating with human girls continues as two women play with each other in front of the lizard guy. No sex here, just a very nicely shot tease sequence. Are we really sure that Zupko did this movie? Women also get to wear the masks and that leads to an anal scene with a girl in dinosaur mask. (Randi Storm) I'm not a big fan of chicks in masks having sex, but this scene has all of the same beauty and conflicting images that the rest of the picture has. They fuck her hard and shoot all over here.

Hannah Hunter is in the next scene and as the weirdness wears off in this movie, it's all coming together. The soft background music and occasional slow motion sex screams out for couples or cable appeal and yet the action is still packed with anal and facials. I am actually quite curious to see who other people react to this movie. In a scene like this one, without even the masks, it is just a beautifully shot, even romantic scene that just happens to include a healthy dose of sodomy and a big facial.

The final scene has newcomer Friday shedding her fancy dress for a little two on one action. They take the curvy girl, bend her over and fuck her at both ends. I haven't seen her in too many scenes, but she sure takes Val's cock up her ass like a champ. There is more slo-mo in this scene and I never really like that. Still, you can tell that this is another high energy anal scene that is just shot with the slow motion and the soft music to sort of confuse those of us who think we have it all figure out.

I am really amazed by this movie. It's going to really surprise a lot of people. Most people know that Zupko can freak people out and push hot buttons like few in porn today, however, not everyone knows that he can make a movie like this. I'm not even sure how normal fans of this work are going to react. There are no nuns being defiled, no blood and guts and very little in the way of odd ball antics. Granted, half of the characters in his little scenarios are not human, but the whole thing is actually quite beautifull shot. If I didn't know better, I would almost suspect that this could be an attempt by Zupko to move into the sort of cable market that is filled with pretentious hacks and their pretty, but sexually vacant ventures. This one is certainly pretty, but it's not sexually vacant and it could easily move into cable, but only if they are willing to take some of the hard core anal action that this movie shows. The funny thing about this movie is that with the soft music and slow motion, Zupko has gone from one extreme I don't like to another. It's almost too pretty. In all, this is an interesting movie that proves that hard core sex can be shot well and that pretty movies don't have to be limp exercise in failed film school angst. Even if that wasn't Zupko's intent, I am going to consider this a huge finger in the face of those so called feature makers who bore us with their lame sex.
