The one thing you can count on from a Kris Kramski movie is that you never really know what to expect. His movies are often outrageous, often quite erotic and from time to time, (gasp) thought provoking. One thing is for sure, his stuff is rarely boring. One warning though, if you're looking for the standard porn feature where people work through their little problems in and around a little harmless infidelity, look elsewhere. Kramski has a much more real and gritty view of human sexuality and it doesn't always make for the most strokeable porn. What it does offer is something different, and dammit after a few hundred 'Girls With Sticky Faces' videos, I need that once in a while.

Chloe is a woman with fairly simple dreams. She would like to see the ocean. It should be easy since she lives only twenty minutes from the shore, but she isn't getting much support from her man, Randy Spears. (Randy is getting so good at playing this sort of asshole.) As soon as Chloe takes off, he's got a young hottie, Cheyenne Silver, working it in his bed. Cutting back and forth between Chloe buying produce and Randy face fucking sexy Cheyenne shows the contrast of their lives even if it takes a little of the sexual heat away. When the focus is on the sex, it's blistering. Cheyenne is super hot looking and takes a toy up her ass with total joy. Of course, Chloe comes home and catches them so things go from hot to cold in a matter of seconds. What follows is a very good dialog scene between Chloe and Spears. Not only are these two clearly among the best actors in the biz, the dialog here is smart and realistic. Very nicely done.

Chloe takes off, but happens upon a very nice young man who promises to take her to the ocean. They make plans to meet an hour later and then go to the ocean. She goes home, grabs some stuff and has no problem walking out the door to make their meeting. The guy, on the other hand, has all sorts of problems with his car, shitty store clerks and hard assed tow truck drivers. Feeling abandoned, Chloe is about ready to do something drastic when luck finally shines on her. A young doctor, James Bonn comes by, saving her from bleeding to death. Instead of taking her to the hospital, Bonn takes Chloe home and then my friends, things get a little weird. He strips her naked and then stares at her body, jerking off. Creepy much?

(For those of you watching the clock, we are at forty minutes with only one sex scene and no popshots. Chloe is nursed back to health, but she is so filled with anger and despair that her heart may never recover. Another ten minutes of dialog between Bonn and Chloe set up the relationship between the two. I'll let you find out for yourself exactly what's going on, but at just over fifty minutes, Bonn makes his move and we get sex scene number two. Even this isn't your usual sex scene, as he covers her in fried eggs while eating her pussy. Of course, once Chloe starts fucking, there is no holding her back. This woman looks fantastic and few women in the history of porn have fucked with as much intensity. Back to the eggs for the cumshot as Bonn fires his goo into her breakfast.

Bonn slips out to see her piece on the side, Danielle Rogers. She is less than thrilled to be fucking in a motel, but James won't take no for an answer. He throws her down and licks her pussy for a while. After shooting a quick load on her face, Bonn starts fucking his plaything. He screws her while looking at a lingerie catalog. How is that for some twisted, non-erotic sex? He so clearly doesn't want to be fucking her, treating her worse than he would a whore.

Chloe's knight in shining armor has fixed his car and is not hot on her trail. He better hurry because Chloe is falling deeper into Bonn's madness. Though she can smell another woman on dick, she sucks it anyway. He takes the chance to use a phone antenna on her asshole. Later, he has a friend, Chris Cannon, over for dinner. It takes a lot of manipulation, but Bonn talks her into fucking his friend right in front of him. As depraved as things get, you just can't not LOVE watching Chloe give head. The scene is intentionally disturbing, but she looks lovely and works dick quite nicely. Watching them force anal on her is a bit much, but once you get past that, she gives a great assfuck and facial. It's supposed to rough and brutal and it sure is.

Making things even harder to watch, Bonn invites Barett Moore over and they all get coked up before turning her loose on Chloe. Nothing like a little drug induced forced lesbian sex to make things uncomfortable. When she breaks out the beer bottle and starts fucking Chloe with it, I find myself really rooting for the guy coming to save her. The lesbian pairing breaks down into a four way fuck that is a little more conventional. Both guys cum on her face, but they also shove pills down her throat, making this as disturbing as anything in the movie so far.

Chloe is without a doubt one of the most non-traditional porn films made in years. I can't say that it's the most strokeable movie to come out of Sin City in recent months, in fact, there isn't a lot of whacking material in the whole thing. Much of the sex is intentionally non-erotic to fit the story. So, if it's not stroke material, how can I call it one of the best of 99? Well, I can't remember the last time I felt myself emotionally involved in an adult film. When the sex is un-sexy, it's because it's supposed to be and that makes it successful. We also get incredible acting performances from Chloe and Bonn, and that has to be applauded. So, as a best of 99 title, who do I recommend this movie to? Anyone who is looking for something a little different. I'm not sure I'd call it a couples movie because it's about as far from the usual soft core shit as can be. Personally, I wouldn't want to watch this sort of porn every day, but as something different, Chloe works big time.

Starring: No, this isn't your typical sex video, and I, too, doubt many couples will find it a stimulation of their sex life. But it's easily one of the best shot, best acted porn films (and I emphasize the word film) you'll find today. As noted, Chloe isn't the sex addict. That's James Bonn, who's chilling as an unhinged doctor with a God fixation and an unquenchable sexual appetite. He never appears to loose his erection, even after ejaculating. He's both Chloe's savior--he saves her from suicide--and captor. In this disturbing story from Kris Kramski (who only makes disturbing films), we see how Chloe, battered by an abusive boyfriends, Randy Spears, falls into Bonns' clutches as he convinces his drugged captive that any rejection of sex is a rejection of love.

Top notch. Shot on film and letterboxed, that 45 minutes pass from the first sex scene until the second makes you forget you're watching a porno. This is clearly an adult movie with its roots in such classics as the "Taking of Christina" and "The Opening of Misty Beethoven. " The actingis uniformly solid, with Chloe gives the performance of her career.

This is where most people will split. Yes, the sex is brutal and most of it qualifies as rape. But its intensity is undeniable. Spears' scene with Chloe's pal Cheyenne is a ball-breaker, as is the finale with kinky drug dealer Barret Moore joining in to give Chloe her first girl-girl.

Though the sex wavers from grotesque to breath-taking, it never feels phoney, whether it's Chris Cannon introducing Chloe to anal, or Spears brutally finger-fucking Cheyenne during an extended oral scene. But the performances give the film its power. Watch Bonn as he undresses the unconscious Chloe (a simple scene), or his ferocious fuck with Danielle Rogers in a cheesy motel room. This is powerful stuff.

The plotting hits some rough spots. The story of Chloe's rescuer hunting her down is filled with holes, and the film wraps up too neatly.

Those complaints aside, this is still one of the best films of recent years. A 10.

Before I start perhaps I should let you know this is NOT the typical sex video with 5 sex scenes and some filler dialog in the middle. For that matter, this film's emphasis is NOT on the sex, but on the story.
As a result, the aspect of the video that's most obvious is not the sexual performances, but believe it or not, its the ACTING!
Hard to believe but true. The sex, up to a certain point is quite frankly minimal--though very explicit. The acting, however, is actually VERY devent. Chloe did a very professional job in terms of acting (if she wanted to make it in the mainstream after this she most certainly could). Randy Spears also had good acting, but most of the rest of the cast (those who had sex scenes at least) acted in typical poor porn fashion.
I'am very impressed with Chloe's acting. Asia Carrera tries and tries and thinks she can act (fat chance), but Chloe really did nail it. Considering this video was released late last year I'd say this is THE best performance of the 90's in terms of acting in a porn film.

This one is a very minimal, yet complex production shot on film with a strict focus on the story.
The story, however, is NOT at all represented by the imagery you'll see in the box cover of the video. In fact, the title is almost misleading, since the one thing Chloe is NOT in this film is a sex addict.
It goes like this: Chloe's best friend fucks her boyfriend. He dumps her. She tries to commit suicide (very explicit scene here) and a doctor rakes her to his home and keeps her drugged so she can't run away. Much sexual abuse from the doctor and his cocaine snorting friends follows. From this point on every sex scene is pretty much a repe scene.
Finally a friend of Chloe finds her and takes her away. The End.
I have to say that the story had a lot of potential but it became increasingly corny and ended up in such a cliche way that really underminded the efforts put at the beginning of the movie to make it a good, involving film where sex is a peripheral element and not the main focus.
Still, it's a pretty darn good approach at making a decent adult film. Much more interesting in terms of cinematography (it was shoe in widescreen format), acting and editing that all of the Ninn videos combined.

This is the part where I think the video has some ups and some serious downs. The ups are the outrageous sex acts showed in this film. Egg yolk being used to perfom cunnilingus, Chloe taking a bottle of beer inside her vagina, a cordless phone's antenna being used as an anal probe, and things like that. BUT. . .
With the exception of two scenes every sex scene in the video is a rape scene, which really takes away the eroticism from it. One rape scene to make a point would make sense, but EVERY SINGLE ONE? That's too much.

Well, it wasn't the sex. I was much more impressed by Chloe's acting and a very small sequence where she's taking a shower.

Well, here perhaps I should speak for the strictly sex audience. As a porno this one won't work. That is, the raincoat aurdience will get a bigger kick out of a "anal mania" video that out of this.
I mean, there are almost no pop shots, the sex is often violent, and serces more as a plot element rather than as a sex aid, which is what most porn is.

I have mixed feelings. It has the potential for being a good adult film, but the story gets corny after a short while.
And as a sex video it doen't cut it for my taste. There's too much violence for the sex to be enjoyable as a visual aid.
All in all I have to give it a 7. Not because it's a bad film (it's above and beyond better than ALL of the artsy fartsy crap from Ninn and Thomas combined), but because as a porno it doesn't really cut it. I doubt ANYONE will use this as a marital aid except perhaps for the very first sex scene.
