Starring: One of a slough of "biographical" porn- star pix from the early '80s, this film purports to tell of Vanessa Del Rio's rise from wannabe legit actress to "porno slut. " Vanessa plays herself, of course, and she's in every sex scene (except one, sort of). Tiffany Clark and Rene Summers also appear, along with transsexual performer Angelique. The guys include porn all-stars Eric Edwards, George Payne, Jerry Butler, R. Bolla, and Jose Duval, plus lesser-known studs David Scott and Adam Oren Ladd (aka Taliesin). Hall of Fame directors Fred Lincoln and Henri Pachard play themselves, and that script girl in Vanessa's big BJ scene is veteran '70s pornstress Erica Eaton. Let us be charitable and say that acting is not a strongpoint of this Pachard film, at least outside of the sex action. It's serviceable at best.

Nothing special. The cinematography and lighting are adequate, the interior sets simply serviceable.

How you react to Vanessa will largely determine how hot you find this film. From this angle she's a gorgeous woman with a voracious onscreen appetite for dick. The first scene finds Vanessa awakening with married porn-star groupies Tiff and Eric, who insist on a little sunrise suckoff from Vanessa. But when Tiff calls her "porno slut" and Eric offers her money, she tosses them out. As Vanessa hurries off to the studio, Pachard tells a reported that his new biopic on Vanessa will be very intimate and deal in "painful revelations. " In makeup, Vanessa begins to spin tales to the makeup lady about her early career. Seems that all the "mainstream" showbiz jobs she sought only landed her on the casting couch. A sleazy casting director (Bolla) solicits a hot blowjob and squatfuck from her, then passes her on to an "international producer" (Duval) with a smoother line and sleazier intentions. He insists that Vanessa submit to a painful assfuck, the dismisses her as a "whore. " Vanessa decides if she's going to have to fuck her way into show business, she might as well get paid forit, so she seeks a job in Fred Lincoln's next big XXX production. He warns her away, but she persists. On the set, she gives brain-fried stud Eddie Long (Scott) a monumental blowjob. This is about the hottest scene in the film, as Vanessa really gets into sucking his big cock, and he gets so hot he comes twice on her lovely face and tits. A Star Is Born, and Vanessa is suddenly in demand from everyone. She then relates how she first got turned on to women -- only this woman (Angelique) has a substantial, all-natural cock that Vanessa delights in sucking until Angelique jerks off into her mouth. Then it's how much she enjoys pickup up strange men in bars (yeah, right), and Jerry and Adam are treated to some of Vanessa's attention in one of Pachard's patented bathroom scenes. This scene is fun too, with Jerry getting his ass licked by that hot Latin tongue before the boys come on Vanessa's face and ass. The next scene is bizarre -- gonzo when gonzo wasn't cool. Pachard sets up a scene between Vanessa and Rene, which he tells them will be interrupted by "an actor" playing Vanessa's real-life ex-lover, George Payne. The "actor" is George himself, and Vanessa will have nothing to do with him. Pachard finally persuades her to sit on the bed and watch as Payne fucks Rene. She flings sarcastic comments at him until he finally gets off. Finally, we meet the porno groupies again, and Vanessa has a nice fuck with Eric as Tiff watches and helps. The last scene, Vanessa's hot striptease, is an anticlimax (pun intended) -- a tepid ending after the previous heatwaves. Should have opened the flick. Some of the individual scenes in this film are hot, but there'sno continuity, no buildup or erotic fervor that the best porn films have. Pachard may have been aiming for a little "realism" here, but hey, Henri -- porn's all about fantasy, no?

Vanessa is gorgeous and really into her scenes with Scott, Angelique, and Jerry and Adam. Although some of this "biography" is obviously bogus, she comes across as a real person and a woman you'd like to talk to as well as make love to.

Coercive sex (okay, it happens, so does cancer, but neither are very erotic when done so realistically); and the waste of cute lil' Rene Summers. The George Payne scene may have been an effort to elicit some real emotional reactions from Vanessa, but it falls very flat and is not at all sexy. Angelique's scene is hot but some may be turned off by a chick with a dick.

"Biographical" porn is at its best when the creators don't lose sight of what's hot and what's not. Compared to gems like "Inside Jennifer Welles" and "Deep Inside Desiree Cousteau," this effort at "painful revelation" is sorely lacking in overall heat and just plain fun. (Of course, to get the real, phony lowdown on Vanessa's career, try the Dark Brothers' zany "Deep Inside Vanesssa Del Rio. ") Anyway, I'll give Vanessa and Pachard credit here for three or four hot scenes. RATING: 5
