Some of my favorite adult features of all time come from that dark time in the late 80's before gonzo took over and when most everything on the shelves was a poorly thrown together faux-feature. Most of them have something in common; they were directed by John Leslie. Before he joined John Stagliano's Evil Empire, Leslie made some great features for VCA. I am shocked that it has taken them this long to put some of these titles on DVD because these movies still beat the hell out of most features we see today. For this flick, Leslie borrows from Alfred Hitchcock's “Strangers on a Train” for the main story. Those of you who missed the Hitchcock original probably still remember the plot from the brilliant “Throw Mama From the Train.” In this version Scott Irish and Joey Silvera cross paths and hatch a plot to swap murders.

Joey comes home and finds his wife, Victoria Paris on her knees sucking two cocks. After cutting him to the bone with her words, the busty blonde bobs her head between Ray Victory and Buck Adams. Victoria has the big 80's hair thing going as she works her lips over Ray's big cock. He actually gets pretty good wood as Buck pumps away on her pussy. Not only does she cheat on him, but she is also holding a scandal over his head in order to live the high life on his dime. Even without Joey's OK, Scott moves in. He meets Victoria at the gym, puts some moves on and gets her after class. All dressed up in leather boots and looking quite slutty, she doesn't even let him get out of the car. Instead she squats at the door and starts blowing him. All of the scenes in this movie are a bit short, so the blowjob here doesn't last quite as long as it should. Scott has to use his gloved fingers to get her meaty slit. She looks great on her back, but really loves the reverse cowgirl action as she fucks him in the front seat of his car.

He knocks off Victoria and then puts the pressure on Joey to reciprocate. The police question Joey, but he has an air-tight alibi. The plan is working too well for Scott. He passes the time by paying a couple in a bar to fuck for his viewing pleasure. Tom Byron gets to play with ultra-cute little Charlii. Tom leans back and lets this pretty young girl work him to full mast with her mouth. This chick is really an under-rated performer from this era. Their scene is a bit short, with Byron bending her over the barstool and fucking her until he's ready to shoot all over her back.

Joey is off the hook for his wife's murder, but he is having a major problem knocking off Scott's sister April West. He is falling for the beautiful woman and doesn't want to kill her. April is one of the prettiest girls in the history of porn and in the right scene, she really brought some heat. Joey finally gets what he wants, slowly stripping April naked and enjoying her pretty little box. She has already sucked his cock for a few seconds so Joey just goes right to the fucking. April's gorgeous body is nice and tight. He fucks her hard in mish and shoots all over her flat tummy.

The story goes on for several minutes after the final sex scene and takes some interesting twists. Some of the sex feels a bit flatter than I remember, but that is bound to happen with any movie that was shot before the Stagliano revolution. For its day this was a very hot movie sexually and the dialog scenes are quite good as well. Silvera is fantastic in his dialog scenes and April West shows why she was one of the most under-rated performers of her era. I like some of the scenes, though they are all too short. If Leslie could shoot this cast today we would be in for a real treat. Victoria, April and Charlii are all very good looking and hot as ever in this flick. Even a decade and a half later, Strange Curves remains one of my favorite adult features of the 1980's. If we can just get Leslie to tackle this sort of project now, with better sex….damn.

A disturbing mix of angry vengeful sex tempered by a few passionate scenes when Silvera falls for the girl he's supposed to kill.

Leslie smoothly joins the plot and the sex without missing a beat. A complicated tale to be sure, but one with unexpected surprises. The crackerjack finale, which exposes Irish's motives, packs a wallop. To reveal more would ruin a twisty plot worth foraging through.

As I said, the plot is complicated.

A 9 for the writing and Leslie's good sense to trust his fans to follow along.
