Starring:
Billed as Harry Reems comeback after a near decade-long absence from porn, the master-blaster from "Deep Throat" rebounds nicely here in a dual role. Harry plays a small-time con artist who discovers, with ex-partner Veronica Hart, that he has a double: Howard Austin, a rich man's son preparing to marry Kelly Nichols. The plot: Switch places Howard, get hitched, then before Nichols suspects anything, take off with the gifts. If only everything worked that smoothly.
All grade-A, though most of the film is limited to the mansion.
Pretty strong. Pretending he's Howard, the evil Reems targets all the gals in Howard's life. He even nails his sister (imagine her psychiatric bills), and catches stepmom doing the maid.
Director Robert McCallum is fast, quick-witted, and always ready with a twist. The ending, though not original, wraps things up neatly. And, of course, Kelly Nichols in anything (or out of anything) is always a treat.
It flags in spots, and if you don't enjoy Reems' mugging you'll find it slow going.
Overall, an 9.
