Starring:
Early in his career, actor/director John Stagliano perfected the role of the long-suffering loner who watched others score while he searched for his sexual goddess. This, arguably, is his best effort. As another lost soul looking for a lost love, this time in a string of strip clubs, Stagliano captures the isolation and achy desires of a man suffocating in the smoke and neon.
Though shot on video, the production is top notch-- ominously dark-- a world of forbidden rendezvous, hidden identities, and luscious, curvaceous dancers who entice, then deliver.
Solid. The characters and their motives are deliberately vague, like Randy Spears and partner Brandy Alexander who seem to hold control over dancers and the law. And Sean Michaels, a club owner who you're never sure is playing straight or corrupt. These mysteries add a dreamy quaility to the film that makes the picture even more alluring.
The sex simmers slowly until popping into a sizzling climax. Not only does there always seem to be dancing in the background, but the gals on the tables include Nina Hartley and sultry Lauren Brice, who holds a special power over our protagonist. It's rare to find stripping this steamy in video.
It ends promising to continue the story in the sequel. God, I hate that!
