Starring:
One of a handful of John Leslie productions that put erotic spins on familiar mainstream movies. This one follows the structure of "Key Largo," but to great effect. Jamie Gillis, Joey Silvera, and Damien Cashmere are diamond smugglers who hide out at Richard Pacheco's home when Pacheco's friends, Mike Horner and Cheri Taylor, arrive for the weekend. Soon, they're all hostage to the bad guys and their own sexual longings.
Shot-on-video, but top notch all around. Leslie was one of the key directors to explore video's story-telling limits.
From alcoholic Ona Z's melancholy frolics, to Charli St. Cyr's slow mind-fuck of Jamie Gillis, the sex flows nicely from the characters' personalities.
There's so much. Jamie's seduction of Charli is done with words as much as actions; Ona Z's is superb as the broken woman cast aside; and Cheri Taylor is positively gleeful during her threesome with bad guys Silvera (who has some creepy moments) and Cashmere.
The resolution is a complete botch that actually looks pasted on. It really hurts the movie, which is so driven by its plot and characters.
An 8. The acting is terrific, the relationships pulsate, but that ending. . . ugh!
