DVD has allowed porn companies to break out old classics and show them to an entire generation that only know the legend of performers like John Holmes. Arrow has thrown their hat into the classic ring by releasing Taxi Girls and Reel People. I chose to review this one in part because it's always good to see women like Candida Royalle work in front of the camera. (See, there are probably people who didn't know that was a performers before she was a director.) Besides, Jamie Gillis is in this movie and people keep telling me that there was a time when he wasn't all creepy on film. I've yet to see it, but maybe this one will finally show me the softer side of Gillis.

I'm not sure what Taxis have to do with this movie because the only girls we see at the start of the movie are hookers. We open in a jail caell with a dozen or so horny working girls. When a guard comes in, they attack him. The poor guy doesn't stand a chance and really doens't fight too hard. While they work him over, one of the other girls hooks up with the desk sergeant. The sex isn't that great, but when an annoying woman comes in to the station, we all see where that hilarious scene from the original Police Academy came from. Once the girls fuck the two cops, they leave him in the cell and run out onto the streets.

One of the girls gets smart idea and becomes a cab driver. In no time at all, she gets a guy in the backseat, works out a deal with him and is back to her old tricks. I'm pretty sure this is Nancy Suiter. At any rate, she is a pretty blonde who seems to think she's a stand up comedian. Instead of a full scene, we see her playing with a couple of different fares and finally showing up on the street where she used to work. She convinces the other girls that they should all give this line of work a try.

The owner of the cab company needs a bit of convincing, the girls gang up on him as well. Our blonde does most of the work, showing off a very pretty ass as she rides his cock. When he cums, the other girls pull it out and share it. I think they are all going to get any job they want. Instead of hiring them, he pisses them off and the girls set out on their own.

Now on their own, the girls show up at the bank to get a business loan. They quickly suck an approval out of the loan office and go to see the bank President. He's a tougher nut to crack, but can't turn down four hot mouths. Before they leave the office, they have all the money they need to launch their business.

The next step is to get a car and you know that these women know how to drive down the sticker price on any car they want. Our story follows the blonde as she tries to launch her stand up career. I still say she's better on her knees than in the spotlight, but you have to admire her spirit. Her boyfriend (Holmes) thinks she's talented and beautifu and shows his support by giving her the high hard one. After a quick lick of the puss, he shoves that monster cock into her hole and drives her nuts. When she gets on top that super fine ass is again on display. The girls are doing such great business that they end up pissing off the other cabbies. Two of them get mad enough to grab one of the girls out of her cab. They get rough with her, raping her holes. While the guys are fucking this chick and a second one they have brought in, Holmes finds out about the little party. He gets the girls together and they attack in full Charlie's Angels, roller disco attire.

Wow porn has changed inthe last quarter of a century. There is sort of a plot going on here and it even makes sense for most of the time. Tha acting is good at times and laughable at others. What really stands out is how differently sex is shot now days. I still prefer modern porn to classic stuff, but this is a really good DVD transfer and gives people a chance to see the legendary John Holmes before things went terribly wrong for him.
