Starring: Inari Vachs - She play a reporter interviewing Bonn about the changing face of porno since the 1960's. Not a bad performance, considering the script read like it was written for a 5th grade class play. Such a waste of talent.

James Bonn - Horrible example of over-acting. He plays a porn guru who has been producing movies only since the late-60's, yet he acts like a senile, doddering, incontinent baboon. It was very annoying to see him constantly toying with his fake gray mustache while he tries to render his lines.

Unfortunately, there are no other actors who actually have any role worth mentioning. The scenes for the most part are just isolated vignettes tied together only by the recollections of Bonn.

The title song, which is a pretty catchy orignal piece of music, misleads the viewer into thinking that some thought might have gone into the production. However, after that, production is all downhill. The biggest problem by far is the casting of actors in scenes where they just don't "look the part".

What planet did the people who casted this film come from?! If I recall correctly, most women doing porn during the 60's and 70's had big natural boobs and mostly hairy bushes. Also, most of the porn from the 1960's and 1970's featured men with the au natural looks as well. Sex under a disco ball is not exactly what 70's porn was about.

Finally, regardless of the catchy title song, all of the sex scenes are set to redundant typical porno music.

Inari is gorgeous and the other woman are all pretty hot. Unfortunately, the sex is mild to luke-warm. Although there are 4 facials, much of the sex is condomed and mechanical. There are two basic positions: missionary and doggy. There is no anal, which is surprising, since most of the women featured in this film are known for being pretty good at it.

Jeannie Rivers is pretty fun to look at in a pair of cut-off blue jeans. Also, Inari covered in glitter during her sex scene is nice to look at. Like I said, all of the women are pretty hot.

I hate to see an idea with so much potential screwed up SOOO miserably. Maybe I expected too much from this one. Really, here was a chance to do porn's answer to Boogie Nights, and the film had the opportunity to enlighten porno fans about the changing of the industry from an insider point of view as well as provide an erotic experience for the viewer. Yet, as a long-time porno fan, I felt as though the people who produced this film were really lacking any sufficient historical knowledge of thier OWN industry.

Bonn's character's recollections of the industry were as such that they might be summed up in 4 lines: 1) porn was underground in the 60's; 2) porn became big money in the 70's; 3) porn was shot on video in the 80's; and 4) porn was amateur art in the 90's. Yet, as only a fan, I can surmise that there are much more interesting stories to be told about the evolution of porn from the basement to the corporation.

No one expects academy award winning acting from porno stars, but at least I expected some effort to go into the scripting and casting of this production. There was no character development to tie the scenes together; no discussion of how the people in the industry have changed; no discussion of how the focus of the industry has changed; so much was missing that could have been here. It's a shame for such an opportunity to go to waste.

- but perhaps, I was expecting too much from the title. Viewer be warned, this is NOT a comprehensive history of porn from the inside, so don't get it if that's what you're looking for. For now Boogie Nights will have to do.
