Starring: Like so many porn videos take-offs on straight movies or TV shows, "Babewatch" is a ripe idea weakened by mediocre execution. The performers are fine. Jon Dough, T. T. Boy, Kylie Ireland, Rebecca Wilde and Asia Carerra are all great lookers and, in the case of Asia and Dough, solid actors. But director Buck Adams, so good when edgy porns ("No Motive" is terrific), bungles it trying to make what is at heart a porn drama about broken relationships. It's not his best value.
Solid. But you expect nothing less from Adams. What you do expect from the premise is a little lightness and humoro--this is, after all, a satire. But it's to be.
The sex is strictly by-the-number. The pairings would seem to set off sparks, as when lifeguard T. T. Boy drills sexy Holly Body, but neither look interested in each other. Even when its two on one, with Kylie Ireland and Bianca Trump dueling over Tony Tedeschi's dick, the scene lacks crackle.
Rebecca Wilde shows some energy in her scene with director Adams, who plays a washed up racer trolling for chicks. And Asia steams the screen durig her secretive hump with Dough.
The whole production needed more scenes like these.
A If it weren't for Asia or Rebecca, "Babewatch" would be a complete wash-out.
