Starring: Since the late eighties, director John Leslie has attempted to pump creativity into an industry that a decade ago wallowed in cheesy plotless shot-on-video junk. While no homerun, this is a clever attempt to break down the wall between the filmmaker and video viewer. It features Jamie Gillis (in a non-sex part), T. T. Boy, Tom Byron, Debi Diamond, Cody O'Connor, Brittany O'Connell, and Rocco Stiffredi, among others, as actors running through the script of Leslie's latest opus. Put simply: We watch them "rehearsing" the screwing.

Set in one room, it's a bit claustrophobic. As I said, it's clever, though not altogether successful.

The sex is hot. Watch how Cody O'Connor blandly begins her workout with Rocco, becomes aroused, then inflamed as she extends the act until Rocco explodes. Through these and other scenes their fellow actors give a running commentary on the performances. As you'd expect, Gillis comes off like a sleazeball. Is he being genuine, or playing into his image?

The originality. The heat is generated by watching "actors" slowly become turned on by their work. In many ways, this is a forerunner to the avalanche of videos, including many by Leslie, that present "real" people having sex in real time.

There's really nothing creative in the sex acts themselves.

An 8 if you have the patience to get through it.
