Before I even begin to review this film, we have to take a look at the cast list. Turn back the clock a couple of years and this list would have mirrored my personal favorites list. Kaitlyn Ashley, Alex Dane, Nici Sterling, Johnni Black and Sindee Coxx all have that certain something that lights up the screen. So in theory, this would have to be a near sure bet for a high rating right? It would take a pretty colossal tank job to ruin such a good cast. There is more of a premise here than a plot, with Tony Tedeschi playing a modern day Edgar Allen Poe, drinking heavily and rapidly jotting down tales of terror that come to life in his mind and on our screen.

In 'The Black Cat' Alex Sanders and Krista Maze stop by to visit a strange friend. He lives his life surrounded by cats. TT Boy is odd at best, downright evil at worst. The three hold a seance to contact the spirit of TT's dead wife, who he stole from Alex. (And whom Alex later cheated with, it's all very deep.) Her spirit now lives in Krista. Oh no, what are they to do? Well they have to fuck of course. This is porn, not the Outer Limits. With some soft music and romantic lighting, the guy strip her clothes off and begin stimulating Krista's pink parts with their tongues. They can't wait to penetrate her so while Krista sucks TT, Alex fucks her from behind. For such a romantically lit scene, the sex is captured quite well, with enough close ups and hard action to make me forgive the K-WAVE soundtrack. As individual scenes, each of them works quite well. Krista Maze is the surprise of this DVD, taking two cocks in a very hot scene. No shock at all to find that the Alex Dane scene is off the chart hot. This woman is a walking wet dream. Equally stunning is the four way with Kaitlyn and Johnni shining as always. Farrah is the cover girl for this DVD and though she only does g/g action, her scene with Sindee is pretty sexy. Nici steals the thunder in their g/g and later with Oscar, but doesn't she always. If there is a slight drawback here it's that the movie is quite dark. With some minor pixilization, the picture isn't always perfect. Still, I had to reach way down to find anything at all wrong with this movie.

The tape is a collection of well-produced vignettes which take their title - and little else - from Edgar Allen Poe short stories. Each episode begins with a brief plot setup, moves into the hot and sweaty part, then caps the mini-movie off with an eerie and haunting development twist. Gee, I could barely sit through the sex without fast-forwarding to see how each one wrapped up (yeah, right!).
Tony Tedeschi appears at the outset and in between each scene, as he portrays a demented writer seeking inspiration for his dark stories. In the first episode, Krista Maze hooks up in a two-on-one with T. T. Boy and Alex Sanders. Krista looked great in her tight sweater at the start of the scene, and even better after the guys stripped her down and went to work. T. T. and Alex each squeeze some jizz into her open mouth to cap the lovemaking. I don't recall seeing Ms. Maze's work before, but I won't hesitate to check her out in the future as a result of her performance here.
A girl/girl scene between Farrah and Sindee Coxx follows. It was energetic, but seemed overlong to me. I'd much rather see each of these two honeys with some stud. Next was a foursome with Kaitlyn, Johnni, Peter, and J. J. All in all my favorite scene in the movie, with great sex and good chemistry working between all four. J. J. and Johnni play a recently-married couple who have had to forego their consumation because they are working ‘round the clock to find the cure to a mysterious plague. When co-scientists Kaitlyn and Peter begin unwinding (and undressing), the newlyweds finally decide that work can wait. Johnni looked especially cute to me in this scene, and Kaitlyn was hot as always. After a while the women swap partners for some anal action. J. J. can't deliver much of a spurt to Kaitlyn's waiting mouth, but good old "Paste-Pot Pete" delivers the goods to Johnni's face, and Kaitlyn leans in to help lick off the mess. This scene deserves watching over and over.
In the fourth vignette, Farrah starts in with Nici (who is chained to her bed), then Wilde Oscar takes over for some decent action, including some reverse-cowgirl anal to top off the coupling. The scene was fine, except will Farrah hang around to make it a three-way, or hook up with a guy later on? Nevermore!
With those four stories now out of the way, Edgar Allen Tedeschi (doesn't have the same ring to it, does it?) is visited by the ghost of his dear departed wife, Alex Dane. Who says "ghosts can't do it"? Proving, at least in this case, that the pen isn't always mightier than the "sword," Tony and Alex turn in a great romp, with great visual angles, finishing in a decent facial.

Very high caliber here. The lighting and music convey a spooky or moody atmosphere. Even though scenes are dimly lit at times, the sex consistently had ample lighting.

Again, the tape deserves good marks. The action was varied, with plenty of anal and facial work, and the decent plot development didn't detract from the sex.

The foursome in the middle of the video was awesome, and the final coupling between Tedeschi and Dane also rates high. Also, I was impressed and pleasantly surprised with Krista Maze.

It's frustrating that Farrah appears in two scenes without engaging in any hetero action. She seems to be a better-than-average porno actress in both sex and non-sex scenes, but the lack of guy/girl action for her (and also Sindee) was a letdown.

An 8. I would definitely pick this video up again.
