With their limited resources and talents in other areas, certain subjects are usually best avoided in adult videos. Top of the list would normally be the big screen musical. With musical ability being severely limited to the likes of an Asia Carrera (piano) or a Dyanna Lauren (singing), porn musicals, what few of them there are, are some of the toughest things to get through and often require a constant finger on the fast-forward button. Going into "Cashmere" with this in mind, you can't imagine how pleasantly surprised I was to find that not only did I really enjoy the movie, I actually caught myself humming along to a number of the songs.

But you can't jack-off to music alone (well, then again, there are some really odd people in the world, so who knows...), and "Cashmere" delivers on the eye candy as well, with lots of 50's imagery shot by director Ninn in a music video fashion.

The story, or more accurately, what serves as the setup for each of the scenes, is the musings of an unseen narrator who recollects his first teenage masturbatory dreamgirl, a Peggy Lee lookalike by the name of Penny Lane (Kylie Ireland) who sings 50's bubblegum songs and wears a lot of beehive hair-dos and pink hoopskirts.

After a great musical opening title sequence with a catchy tune called "The Only One", the movie launches into another music video sequence set at a fantasy diner, featuring bits of sex (foreshadowing things to come) between Ireland and Brick Majors.

The song fades way and we are treated to the complete fuck and suck scene that we were only offered glimpses of before. Complete with a convertible pink Cadillac, Brick and Kylie give a hot scene the culminates in an oral popshot. Where the filmmakers found a 50's malt shop that let them film fucking out in front of their restraunt is the real $64,000 dollar question, though.

While the next scene with Vicca and Nikita servicing one lucky guy and licking cum up off a water sculpture is quite nice, prepare yourself for the next scene. Set to a song called "Good Girls Do", the scene has awards nominee written all over it. Kylie, dressed in Catholic school girl attire, struggles with sexual guilt while attending confession. Anna Malle and Jeanna Fine tempt Ireland to watch and masturbate while the two talk dirty (and no one talks filty sex talk better than Jeanna Fine) and seduce Randy Spears. Anna delivers an intensely hot blow job on the Spears spear. Complete with some great reverse cowgirl and a great oral c-shot, the biggest crime committed here is that the scene is too damn short and could have gone on for another five or ten minutes and still not be too much.

As incredible as the scene is, the rest of the movie gives it a real run for the money. Some of the finer moments: a great four girl orgy with Kylie being joined by Shayla LaVeaux, Jill Kelly, and Rayveness set to a little ditty called "Girl Homo", a hot boy/girl pairing with Jill and Eric Price complete with some hot anal action and a great oral climax, Shayla and Colt Steele fucking on a diner counter, and Kylie getting it in the ass in the back of a convertible.

Ninn shares his accomplishment with Lauren Alexander, who provides the vocals for all the great songs in the movie, and Jim Holliday, who served as consultant for the project.

One to remember come awards time next year as well as the next time you're in the video store.

Lots of bucks went into the sets, costumes, and visuals. Typical VCA high end product.

Okay, lots of people will not like the way Ninn does his flicks, but I do. I liked Shock, and this has lots of the same visual things. I consider it a tribute to his abilities, and like it better than just two people banging away in a junk yard or dirty factory.

The sex is seen very well. Lots of close ups, enough time spent in each position, good final facials. Lots of Kylie.

I liked it all. The pink wigs get too much some of the time, but this is a spoof.

It gets an 8. I liked it, I think Mr. Ninn did an excellent job, the women are all good looking, the men are not hairy and fat, the sex is good, and the visuals are good. I agree that MTV-style jumping about is detracting, but this film is worth it. The DVD will be a good addition.
