This should be interesting. Private's big feature, “Cleopatra” brings together the same people who brought us last year's epic “Gladiator.” No one does epic features like Private and if this one is half as impressive as “Gladiator” then we are about to watch one of the best movies of the year. Julia Taylor plays the title role in this movie and yes sports fans; it is dubbed in the typical Private style. (It's the only weakness in Private movies as far as I'm concerned.)

The movie begins with Cesar's return to Cleopatra's arms. Their dialog is not helped at all by the rather poor dubbing, but come on. “Rome is like a nest of vipers ya know?” Not to worry though, Cleo tells him to take her and that's all the encouragement he needs. (It's a long trip from Rome after all.) Like all porn period pieces, this one features women with perfectly groomed genitalia and we can all be thankful for that. She stares sideways into the camera while licking his balls and working her mouth up to his throbbing prick. The eye contact continues as Cesar rolls her onto her side for spoon. In fact, Julia's stare is almost distracting since she appears to be far more interested in the camera than her partner. He stays away from her ass, working her pussy in three positions and then leaving his seed between her firm breasts. (The slow motion pop is bad, but she plays with his dick for a while after he's finished.)

Cesar's second in command is unsure about this new alliance and is certain that some witchcraft is being used to keep him away from Rome. Miss Cleo's fortune teller (Sandra Russo) is more than happy to show him that it is love (or lust) that is keeping Cesar and Cleopatra together. He may not fully understand, but he isn't about to turn down a chance to lick her sweet slit. The eye contact thing continues as Sandra starts sucking. They move really quickly past the blowjob and through two vag positions. Slowing down a bit for anal, they give us some doggy and mish with slow motion thrown in to sort of mess with the rhythm of the scene. Other than another slo-mo pop on her tongue, this is a solid little anal scene.

Cleopatra enjoys her female servants quite a bit. A massage quickly turns into a steamy veggie session. Cesar walks in and decides that he will enjoy some slave gash as well. With his love just a few feet away, he goes down on a very hot young girl. (Lucky I believe.) Another guy joins the fun and now we have a little three on two action going. With the camera cutting back and forth, we don't get to see as much of Lucky as I would like. Most of the attention goes to Cleo and her friend and that's not a bad thing. Lucky does take a really sexy facial and then shares a cum kiss with the other slave.

Back in Rome, Octavius brings word of Cesar's decision to stay with Cleopatra. Rita Faltoyano is happy to have him home and rewards his loyalty by offering up her body. He digs in and makes a meal out of her tasty folds. This girl is might fine and she gives one hell of a hot blowjob. There is a guy watching and as soon as they get going, he steps forward to give her a second dick to work with. In doggy, her body looks fantastic and her ass is ready to be filled. The scenery is pretty stunning as they set out across the desert, but after such a fast-paced first half, the movie has become a bit bogged down. Luckily, Bobbi saves the day sexually. When they nearly get caught in the tomb, she has to distract a very lucky man by dropping to her knees and sucking his cock. Though she looked good in the last scene, I like her hair pulled back like this. Besides, this time around she gets to focus her full attention on sucking cock and the result is quite brilliant.

The rest of the story will have to be worked out later, but I'm sure that we're going to see Cleopatra and Cesar in present day in the next movie. As noted, the dubbing really takes away from the flow of the plot. Even if the dialog were well done originally, the voice overs are flat and really slow things down. I also didn't dig the slow motion popshots and the more than occasional nod to the cable/couples porn market. Private is certainly softer than it used to be, but they can still blow away most American features for hot women, good sex and of course, stunning sets and costumes. Still, I miss the old days when slow motion didn't ruin those perfect facials.
