Description: "John Garfield stars as boxer Johnny Bradfield, a rising star on his way to the top of the boxing world. But when a nosy reporter threatens to tarnish his squeaky-clean image, Bradfield's manager takes matters into his own hands. Bradfield is charged with the murder of the reporter and at the advice of his attorney, he leaves town, thumbing rides across the country. Bradfield collapses outside a ranch in Arizona run by a church group that is a home for wayward boys. At first Bradfield tries to take advantage of the boys on the farm, but he gradually grows to like the scrappy youngsters. (Played by the Dead End Kids) But the ranch may be sold unless they can come up with the money to pay the mortgage. Bradfield decides to put on a boxing match to raise the money. Unfortunately, an obsessed police detective, (Claude Rains) threatens to bust Bradfield and stop the fight."
