Pierre Woodman has been one of porn's finest directors for years. In the 1990's he led the way as Private brought gorgeous European babes to the States and helped change porn forever. Known for movies that as sprawling as they are sexy, Woodman has always combined great style with amazing strokeability. (Something that far too many feature directors can't get right.) With his latest project, Sex City, Woodman brings to the blue screen a cum spattered versions of the mainstream Hollywood hit “Sin City.” It would be easy for someone to come up with clever packaging to match the Bruce Willis/Jessica Alba movie, but it takes a true master of adult cinema to even attempt something as complex and highly stylized as this. In the hands of another director I might even be tempted to cringe at the thought of a pretentious effort that forgets all about the main attraction…the girls and the sex. Since it is Woodman I am willing to bet that this movie goes way beyond cool packaging (Which it has) and actually manages to balance style with sex. Now let's see if I'm right.

Our story begins with Reda being released from prison eighteen years early for an unspecified crime. He isn't out for more than a few minutes when he rescues a young woman from an attempted attack. Across town in a beautiful penthouse, a hot blonde in a red dress hooks up with her lover. There isn't much here that is memorable other than the fact that everything is black and white except for her dress and lipstick. With sketchy IDs, it's tough to pinpoint this girl, but I think it's Lucy Anne. Whoever she is, we get a nice look at her body as she rides hard in reverse cowgirl. She jerks his load onto her pretty face. The sexual heat is pretty good and the use of black and white is really cool. When they are done fucking, the pretty blonde gets shot by the man hired by her husband to snuff her out. I guess that part isn't so cool for her.

Like the Hollywood movie that inspired this X-Rated adventure has a number of stories going on at once. Our next chapter features a cop in a comp, a serial killer with two girls tied up and a blonde hooker giving a cop a free one on the sidewalk. Before the killer finishes off his victims, he fucks them. Unlike an actual victim, our hot blonde gets into the act and has a great time. I guess she's going out with a bang. With the action moving back and forth between two scenes, we don't have time to blink. The only weakness, and I use that phrase loosely, is that the girl inside with the killer is so totally hot that I never want the action to cut away. Both scenes have great anal, but the blonde inside just has the whole package and really gets into the backdoor penetration. Before the killer can move on to his next victim, our hero cop shows up, drops a few into his chest and burns him with acid. There is a big shoot out that lands our hero in his coma and so we have come full circle, for now.

There is another black and white scene that features some nice anal, but it's rather short and right in the middle of the ever more complex story. Now the cop is out of the coma and finds out that the woman he saved as he been coming to visit every day. He urges her to go into hiding because people will be after him. One of those potential foes is the killer's brother who seems too interested in fucking a couple of really hot women by his lovely indoor pool. He has the blonde and brunette team work on each other before turning their attention to his waiting cock. Both women are tall and lean and love to fuck. They also kiss each other quite a bit as they take turns riding in reverse cowgirl. With two such hot babes ready to fuck at the drop of a hat who can blame the guy for not worrying too much about his crazy brother. We get some really good anal from both girls before they get down and share his load.

Every other scene seems to be a break from the story and the next one involves three very hot girls getting dirty together in a big bed. The black and white thing is going on again and this time their sex toys are the colorful items in the shot. It gives way to a similarly detached boy girls scene with a sexy blonde getting poked until she is nearly ready to scream. Our main guy stumbles into the lesbian situation and ends up hooking up with his friend, Afrodite. She leaves her two girlfriends to fuck in bed while servicing him in the bathroom. Things are getting complicated again with all of the scenes being intercut, but at least there is no shortage of hot action. Afrodite is so good looking though, that the blonde being fucked in the original scene just doesn't quite measure up. Even the hot lesbian toy play seems to take away from the great action she is bringing. I just hope that the big facial she takes in the bathtub doesn't mark our final look at this incredibly lovely young lady.

The cop isn't quite the hero we think he is. OK he is, but the killer is a Senator's son so things get all twisted around. The Senator is on hand when he wakes up and torments him by fucking the blonde nurse (Gwen Cortez) right in front of him. There is some POV footage as she sucks cock, but they move right over to the bed when it's time to actually fuck. The leggy nurse throws her legs up in the air and lets him fuck her ass. I don't know how she can keep her skinny legs up with those huge boots weighing them down. Not willing to let him do all of the work, she gets on top and assfucks him like she's trying to screw his dick off. I guess that kind of hot backdoor action so close might drive anyone crazy. I'm not sure if it's very sanitary though and that might be a concern.

The random scenes keep rolling with a very hot three-way between a brunette and two guys. It's pretty hot, but her sexy friend masturbating as she watches is even hotter. The guys manage to double stuff this little cutie and she gives them a very spirited fuck every step of the way.

This ends the story, but at over four hours in length, this is only the first half of the adventure. We will have to wait for Sex City 2 to find out what happens to our cast of characters. Personally I can't wait.

It is quite common to see an adult film pattern itself after a mainstream hit, but exceptionally rare for one to capture the feel of the original like this one does. Obviously Woodman's project is quite different from the mainstream version. (Not just because his doesn't feature a stripper who won't get naked.) The multiple plotlines are actually interesting and that is something that virtually no adult director can pull of. Of course no one ever confused Woodman with an ordinary adult director. The visual style of this movie is nothing short of stunning. It's an early favorite for best art director, editing and a few dozen other awards. I love the way he blends the black and white with full color action so as not to take away from the pure strokeability of the movie. The female cast is exceptionally beautiful and remarkably hot. We get plenty of boy/girl action, lots of anal, hot facials and some girl on girl play as well. Personally I'm a big believer in never splitting up sex scenes, but in this case we almost have to see more than one at once to keep the flow of the project going. Anyone who is a Woodman fan, a fan of hot Euro babes or just likes to see porn that tries a little harder will want to pick up a copy of this movie and then anxiously await the conclusion in part two.
